How about "intents and purposes"?

For all intensive purposes, Barrie is NOT a fit for the Leafs. |

All roads still point towards the worst kept secret here…The NY Rangers and Shattenkirk are, for all intensive purposes, engaged…
This is a pet peeve of mine: The purposes are not intense. It's "for all intents and purposes." |

WTF Ek?!?!
You have a full paragraph on Duchesne to Isles and even chipped in Philly (big suprise they are in on everyone according to you) but on the Chart you have the Pens...but nonmention.
Again I ask...WTF?!?!? |

Sean Avery is a pet peeve of Marty Brodeur's
The Rangers knew what they were doing here and they made avery sneaky smart play to get him included in their
and I don't even know why the sentence remains incomplete |

I am gonna say this as a Preds fan. Nashville may have all the good D they want but they lack the scoring the department with the few exceptions of Forsberg, Johansen and Arvi. Yes there is talent and potential talent call ups. Considering this, I hope they find some scoring in FA or move a Defensemen if they want to compete with the likes of the Blackhawks, Blues, ect. |

I'm sick of hearing about the same 5 teams, is ANYTHING else happening?! Maybe boston related? |

Funny you should mention that because the Pens seem to be in on everyone, especially according to Eklund. |

EK still thinks the pens are going to dismantle the team and send Malkin to Chicago. So yes, he has the pens mentioned in a lot of things |

Why stop there? When it comes to grammar corrections, you should bring up the whole kitten caboodle (PS --It's kit and caboodle). |

Every day it looks more inevitable that Shattenkirk becomes a Ranger... but I still don't see it. We traded Stepan because we needed right dman, got a much younger version of Shattenkirk... we traded Stepan cause he's getting 6.5m next 4 years, and everyone thinks we're going to sign an older guy for same type of money over 7 years??? Don't make sense. Especially since we're still stuck with Staal. Gorton seemed like he was pretty confident that Deangelo was the guy that will be his power play quarterback |

I hope Shat goes deep into free agency without getting money. He was Washingtons worst defender in the playoffs. |

I can see Duchene to Philly. Philly is stocked on D prospects which Avs are in the market for however I do not think the Flyers will be willing to add much more to that. Hextall could move a pick as well if he feels his prospect pool is strong enough. From the sound of it Sakic wants a lot more. He wants both arms and legs for Duchene |

Ek, I know the Ducks don't carry much weight on this site but Bergevin and Murray had a lengthy conversation on the draft floor in full view of EVERYBODY. What, and who, the hell do you think they were talking about? How about maybe humoring the few of us that read this stuff and throw us a tidbit every now and then? |
|
|

Phaneuf is a good d-man, who just happens to earn more than a guy his age is worth.
He'll only be moved if the Sens eat a bad contract, or swallow some of Dion's current contract. If he didn't have that contract, the Sens would likely want to keep him.
Anybody remember what the Leafs got in that trade?
Jared Cowen and forwards Milan Michalek, Colin Greening and Tobias Lindberg, along with Ottawa's second-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft (Rasanen).
Realistically, Toronto got a second round pick and some filler, and got out from under a $7M a year contract. Now Ottawa is starting to realize that they have had the short-term gain and face a future of long-term pain trying to work around that big contract.
There are only a few teams who can take on that sort of salary and most won't for Phaneuf...not because they don't like him, but because he is overpaid by about 20%. |
